Cindy Tamayao

Cynthia Chovil Tamayao lives in Seattle, where she draws and paints plants and animals that  inhabit Washington State, particularly in the urban environment.  She works in watercolor, ink,  graphite, colored pencil,  acrylic, pastel and oil, or mixed  media depending on desired effects and subject matter.   Her passion for art was encouraged in early childhood by her parents and by seeing her great-grandmother’s paintings of natural subjects on porcelain and canvas displayed in her grandparents’ home in Tacoma.  Fascination with the natural vs the manmade, or wild vs domestic, or  ancient vs contemporary  forms are present in most of her art.  Recent shows include the Madison Park Café, Artfx Gallery and the Edmonds Conference Center.
