Judy Toone is a Seattle area artist who specializes in watercolor paintings and line drawings of subjects from nature. Much of her art is of botanical nature. Favorite drawings and paintings display the precise techniques of scientific illustration.
Judy has been the vice president, co-president and group show coordinator of the Northwest chapter of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators. For twelve years, her artwork was shown at the Northwest Flower and Garden Show with the GNS I as well as at a variety of other venues.
Judy organized and coordinated the Traditions in Natural Science Illustration Art Show for the NW chapter of the GNSI. It is designed to be a continuing “traveling” and educational exhibit with the purpose of showcasing the variety of subject matter, technique, media and ability of the scientific illustrators to capture the beauty of nature and represent it faithfully.
Judy also has a background in graphic design and illustration. A number of her watercolor paintings and line drawings have been adapted for product labeling, and line illustrations for cover art. As a volunteer for the Seattle Aquarium, she produced a body of artwork used as display labels.
