This workshop is ideal for intermediate and advanced students. Pen & ink is a versatile component to an illustrator's repertoire, applicable to feathers, fur or flora. This workshop will remind you why you love this elegant, time-honored medium where both strength and delicacy can be achieved.
Day 1 focuses on strengthening your drawing skills while highlighting methods of hatching, cross-hatching and parallel lines, creating form, texture and volume in pen & ink.
Day 2 concentrates on scratchboard, an intense medium that retains the richest blacks while using a variety of strokes in transition to whites. Utilizing the drawing principles from Day 1, this day’s instruction includes techniques in reverse scratching and ink application.
