Katherine Moes

Katherine Moes is an admirer of the natural world and the arts and has been fascinated by them all her life. Her love of science inspired her to get a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. After school, Katherine tried her hand at zoo keeping, animal conservation, birding, and vet assisting, before entering into full-time motherhood with her two children (and all the while painted animals in her spare time).

Katherine recently discovered the University of Washington’s Natural Science Illustration program and a light bulb went off. The marriage of her science education and artistic leanings finally found a path to further explore and grow. Now, Katherine looks forward to being a creative participant within this illustration tradition.

Katherine currently lives in Seattle with her husband and two small children. She is working as a freelance artist from a studio in her own home. You can contact her at hello@katherinemoes.com and see her work at katherinemoes.com.
