Pacific Northwest Murals with Artist Leah Everett
Saturaday, February 21s (10-11:15AM) Learn the process of painting a mural! Join us on Zoom Saturday, February 21st, from 10–11:15 am. Leah Everett is a Seattle-area artist who specializes in murals and fine art. Her work is inspired by the natural world of her life-long home: the Pacific Northwest. Leah’s desire is to capture the beauty and complexity of nature and bring it within reach for all to enjoy. Some of her favorite subjects to paint are salmon, mountain scenes, and anything in or along the shoreline of Puget Sound. With her background in environmental science and her passion for art, Leah’s work is a celebration of vibrant scenes full of color and movement. After working for eight years in local governments managing environmental water quality, Leah started Rain, Tree, & Sea, LLC in 2019 with the goal of creating for the glory of God. In 2020 she transitioned to art full-time and now works with local governments, businesses, and individual clients to bring the joy of nature into their daily lives. Leah travels throughout the Pacific Northwest to create custom artwork for her clients. Science in Fiber with Artist Carla Stehr
March 19th, 7-8:30 PM Carla creates art with cloth, paint and stitch often inspired by Pacific Northwest marine life. Her relatively realistic work ranges from intertidal invertebrates to microscopic abstract-like natural patterns. She is a retired marine biologist and several of her pieces are based on images she photographed with a scanning electron microscope (SEM) as a scientist. Her SEM photographs have been published and exhibited in scientific and educational venues including the Seattle Aquarium. Her award-winning fiber art has been exhibited throughout the US. |

Plant Forms in Watercolor with Kristin Frost
April 18th, 10:00am to 1:00pm Tickets $25 via Eventbrite Workshop Description: Learn to paint a native chocolate lily in this relaxed watercolor workshop. I will walk you through how to draw a lily, how to add blossom and leaf structure, and then how to build color, light, and texture in watercolor. Learn how to mix colors and apply them in layers to reveal the bold, graceful look of this spring blossom. All levels of experience are welcome! Artist Bio: Kristin Frost is a visual artist and art professor living in Lynnwood, Washington. Kristin creates drawings and paintings that are inspired by nature, the landscape, and wildlife. She has exhibited her work widely around the west coast in both solo and group shows. Kristin’s work was most recently shown in a solo show at the Bothell City Hall Art Gallery last winter. Currently, Kristin teaches drawing and painting classes and workshops at Gage Academy, DigiPen Institute of Technology, and the Museum of Northwest Art. |
