Marilyn Morrill Droege

Art has been a large part of Marilyn's life, whether in academic or professional areas, teaching, or fine arts..A degree in Fine Arts preceded professional work in Graphic Design.  She has also published in the fields of technical and scientific illustration in Marine and Environmental science and Biology.

She is an amateur mycologist and botanist with a life-long love of science and art which culminates for her in painting plant, animal and natural objects by closely observing and rendering the smallest details, celebrating the natural world.,while enjoying the knowledge gained in their study.

She works primarily in watercolor, gouache, ink graphite, scratchboard and colored pencil, using light, texture, and shadow to describe the form of the subject, the authentic relationship of the parts to the whole and to the accompanying space.

She has exhibited nationally and internationally. She has been published in a wildlife arts catalogue in Europe, in the Journal of the Guild of Natural Science Illustration, on a Nature art website, and has won an award in a national botanical art exhibit..

Marilyn's art is now in several private collections.
