Barbara Ierulli

Barbara Ierulli joined the ranks of Natural Science Illustrators after graduating from the University  of Washington’s NSI program in 2013. Barbara received her BFA in ceramic sculpture from the Rhode  Island School of Design in 1974. She continued working in that direction until the mid 1980’s when she traded her clay for the more portable pad, pencil and watercolors. Early retirement of upward of 6 years took she and her husband from the hills of Tuscany to circumambulations of the sacred Mt. Kailas in far Western Tibet. Another 20 years working and child rearing passed before Barbara was able to again apply her talents to her first love, observing and illustrating the world around her. A more extensive portfolio of Barbara’s work can be seen at barbaraierulli.com
