Margaret Trent
Margaret Trent draws her inspiration from nature. While her focus is on plants, she also enjoys drawing birds and insects. She works primarily with colored pencils on drafting film, or paper.
The daughter of an archeological illustrator, Margaret was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, where she graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences.
An active member of the Pacific Northwest Botanical Artists, Margaret regularly exhibits with this group at the Elisabeth C. Miller Library in Seattle. She has also exhibited her work at the Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island, the Clymer Museum and Gallery in Ellensburg and the Washington State Convention Center. Margaret is also a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (Northwest Chapter) and the Colored Pencil Society of America (Seattle Chapter). In 2018 she completed a series of three drawings commissioned by the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden.
