Presenter
Susan Jones

Topic
Before graphite pencils were available, artists drew with metals - lead, silver, gold and others. Discover the subtle, luminous tones of silver drawing, and learn to use this lovely Renaissance technique in your art and illustrations. Susan takes you through the history of the medium and teaches today's techniques for getting the most out of it in your own work.

Planning for the joint show with PNBA is progressing nicely. See the 2014 WSCC Exhibit Tab for our progress.

  GNSI-NW History 07/24/2012
Another task is to document our group's history. See "A Letter to Past Members" below.
We hope to have a complete show list, a conference list, a list of presidents and board members, and an ongoing Members Page on the website.

Dear GNSI-NW Associate:

Our "Treasurer's Box" of financial records has membership lists that date to the very beginning of the organization, and we are using that information to seek archived items from GNSI-NW's past.

Historical documents we would like to collect or peruse include newsletters, shows and exhibits, workshops and lectures, conference information, and especially ByLaws, and any other organizing documents. We are seeking all documents, no matter how seemingly insignificant.

  Seeking Local Historian 07/24/2012
We are seeking our "local historian" who archived Patricia Spencer's collection of newsletters after she contacted Audrey Miles Cherney in May of 2011. Whoever this person may be, she is not a current member and she has a nice 50s collection.

NOT FUN:
We lost our Non-Profit Status with the IRS due to not filing since 2007. The required reading is on the IRS website, and we do understand what we need to submit to become a non-profit again. The most important task is to find our missing By Laws.
A form was sent to the IRS requesting our original organizing documents, they did not meet their 60 day period of time in which to respond. Meanwhile, if anyone has knowledge in the area of 501(c)(6) nonprofit organizations, let us know!
