High school marine biology teacher, Bryan Robles, is interested in having a science illustrator present in his class. The school is in Issaquah and you can contact him for more details (ROBLESB@issaquah.wednet.edu). I have done similar workshops/presentation in the past. They were fun and a great way to exercise my teaching skills.
Urban Sketching Class
Take a sketching tour of your own backyard: visually explore Seattle's "secret" interior public spaces, eclectic architecture, and unsuspecting passers-by. You'll get practical tips in distilling often-overwhelming visual stimuli, improve your grasp of perspective and composition, and perhaps even discover a cool place you didn't know existed. Find more information here.
GNSI NW Member Accomplishments - Cognition, Inc
Cognition, Inc. is looking forward to a move to a new office in mid-January. This will make it possible for our team room to grow in the coming years. Speaking of growth, we're fortunate to have added a gifted graphic designer, a super developer, and a talented certified medical illustrator/animator to our team. We also rounded out the 4Q13 with a brand new responsive website: www.cognitionstudio.com . Lastly, I will be teaching a workshop this summer at ICON8… likely something centered around medical illustration storytelling and knowledge transfer.

Still looking for a new President
I have settled into Pittsburgh, am enjoying the snow and discovering new floral and fauna. Because of my move, GNSI NW is in need of a new president. If you are interested, feel free to contact me. If you are intimidated, so was I, but it has been easier than I thought and rewarding. = )
